Mission Projects

At DMCS, we work hard at providing a monthly opportunity for the students to reach out to others in an act of loving service. Each month, we discuss the necessity for us to think of others and in particular, the group we’re reaching out to that month.

As the year progresses, helping the less fortunate becomes a daily part of our thinking and prayer as the students remember the poor, the sick, the elderly, the Veterans, the Sisters at Ruth Ross, the unborn and the handicapped in their daily prayer petitions.

Every Thursday, DMCS students celebrate Mass together in our school Chapel at 11:20am.  On Fridays, Mass is attended at St. Peter’s Parish (next door) at 12:15pm.

Celebrating the Saints

DMCS students learn to appreciate the lives of the Saints in a variety of ways.  Special feast days are celebrated with treats at recess and an explanation of the Saint’s life at prayer time.  Once a year, on All Saint’s Day, the students dress up as their favourite Saint and we have a celebration.  Much is learned about the many different Saints, who are the heroes of our faith, and become role models for us as we grow in holiness.
