A safe, nurturing environment is key in the solid foundation of healthy development in each child. In 2000, the task of providing that solid foundation was on the minds of several parents in the Saint John Catholic community.

These parents were at a crossroads – they had to choose between sending their children into the public school system, which wasn’t meeting their expectations or stepping up and creating the learning environment they wanted for their children. The choice was easy. That first meeting, held on Divine Mercy Sunday, inspired these founding families to create Divine Mercy Catholic School.

Together, these families created and continue to nurture a school where learning is about realizing a student’s full potential; through fostering Catholic faith and values and providing the caring environment that makes learning fun and meaningful. From its humble beginnings in 2003, the school has blossomed – increasing enrollment, increasing its footprint, and creating eager and engaged learners. At Divine Mercy, the focus has always been about helping students grow in body, mind and spirit. Our faith in God’s abundant mercy will continue to lead for years to come.

Divine Mercy School will have an educational philosophy that is faithful to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church and concerned with the academic, human, spiritual and apostolic formation of its students.
